General News:
Heindl of PA - December 2009
This month has brought a brief respite from all the medical problems of the past few months. Keith is back to work full time and has no new test scheduled until next April when there will be another CT scan on his pancreas. He is battling back pain right now, and has X-rays scheduled for Christmas week. The Dr. thinks it is muscular. We will see.
Laurie and Keith are both doing fine at work and both are looking forward to a long, relaxing break over the holidays, though Keith is planning on building a storage cabinet. Joseph and Alex are both doing well in school, and other than a cold, are in good health. Alex had a band concert one week and a chorus program last week, after which he informed us that he wanted to quit chorus. Here is a video of the chorus.
Porath (NY) - December 2009
Pam's consulting business kept her pretty busy in December with numerous trips, including going to Houston and North Carolina. She currently has a break after about 12/18 and should be able to be home for the holidays. Mike still has his handyman business and he has a couple of major projects scheduled. Patrick is still doing restorations in Albany, NY and potentially could buy the company that currently employs him.
Heindl of PA - November 2009
Keith is still battling pancreatitis and is recovering from having his gall bladder removed on Oct 26. He had an ERCP test on November 18 to make sure that there were no spots or tumors on his pancreas and to make sure that the CT scan correctly identified the pseudocyst. He received the results on Nov 27 that the cyst was benign, and the test show signs of chronic pancreatitis, but nothing to actively worry about. Recovery time for the pancreas was put at about 10 months.
Keith, Laurie, Joseph and Alex went to Pam's for Thanksgiving. All the kids were there, including Liz's boyfriend. Everyone is growing up so fast, it is hard to believe that Steve will be 37 in about a week. Dinner was very good, with more than enough food. The family tradition was continued with all the macho males going out to the front yard to throw the football. As a sign that everyone is getting older, Mike's bursitis acted up in his shoulder, Keith has forgotten how to throw the long ball, Steve jammed a finger and Patrick still can't catch too well
Heindl of PA - Summer 2009
The summer was somewhat uneventful as everyone's money was tight. One trip that we did take was to Boston, MA. It is a city that we love to visit and there is always something new to do. One thing that we did for the first time was go whale watching. We left from Gloucester, MA in the rain and went out to find the whales. While we did not see a lot of whales, it was a blast. The boat was tossing a bit with the waves, the sea salt was splashing up the side of the boat, and land was nowhere to be found. We did capture a bit of video.
